Each tarball in this directory contains the code corresponding to the kernel version so-named. To use one of these, follow these steps:

  1. Untar patch-o-matic-ng-nnnnn.tar.gz somewhere.
It is assumed that you are already familiar with its use and have used it in the past to install TARPIT into a running kernel.
It is beyond the scope of this document to teach you how to use POM!
  2. Untar tarpit-2.6.nn.tar.gz from this directory somewhere, where "2.6.nn" is less than or equal to (but the one closest to) your kernel's version number.
  3. Replace patch-o-matic's TARPIT directory (patchlets/TARPIT/linux-2.6/*) with the one you just untarred:
    ~# tar xzf patch-o-matic-ng-*.tar.gz
    ~# tar xzf tarpit-2.6.*.tar.gz
    ~# rm -rf patch-o-matic-*/patchlets/TARPIT/linux-2.6/*
    ~# mv tarpit-2.6.*/* patch-o-matic-*/patchlets/TARPIT/linux-2.6/
  4. Use patch-o-matic to apply the new TARPIT patches, compile your kernel and enjoy!
